Artist's Description

The late afternoon sun is shining on the turbulent water being released from the Lake Tahoe Dam into the Truckee River. The colors of the water go from green in the calm areas of the sides to bluish green, blue, turquoise, dark blue to a blackish blue to white where the water is the most wild. The forest trees frame the historic one hundred plus year old dam with a very blue sky and a few clouds in the distance. This is a Photomerge of 2 pictures taken on October 12, 2012 from Fanny Bridge.

About David Lawson

David Lawson

Creativity and adventure have been the 2 central themes of my life. My parents took my 2 older brothers and me on many car day trips and also 2-3 week long summer vacations where we camped, hiked, swam, and explored the parks and forests of the West. At an early age I learned to love the beauty of nature and to see what was around the next bend in the trail or road. Since I was a young teen a camera went with me just about everywhere including my career as a landscape contractor in California and now as a gardener in Hawaii. My wife Diane and I love to explore the Big Island, the other Hawaiian islands, the mainland and the world capturing memories in photos, so please keep coming back to see new ones.
